Generation Jones

Written on 25 June 2009 by

Wedged between the baby boomers and the gen Xers, Generation Jones has been long overlooked, but now  finally  its moment in the sun has come.

After decades as the shining cultural force, the baby boomers are fading. They’re not gone for good yet just to Hervey Bay for a seachange. Facebook Usernames

Written on 13 June 2009 by

Today Facebook is staging one of the biggest virtual land grabs ever – the rush to claim your own name on Facebook.com. Right now if you want to send someone to your profile, you have to figure out a URL that looks something like this:  www.facebook.com/people/Your-Name/585946540. But wouldn’t you rather own www.facebook.com/yourname?

Starting today at 2pm AEST you can claim your name as a facebook URL. Login to Facebook then go to http://www.facebook.com/username. If someone else has already has your name, get creative – add a period, or a dash, shorten it, lengthen it, or slap a number in there somewhere.

By: Jon Arnold

You may find this hard to believe, and I had a difficult time believing it when I first heard it, but I’ve found that it is true. Despite what logic may tell you, nothing inspires people nearly as much as aerobic pictures to get fit and in shape. I know exactly how skeptical people can be about motivational pictures. Who among us has not seen that picture of a mountain climber on someone’s cubicle wall with a caption of “Persistence” or “Excellence”, or the picture of the small kitten hanging on to a ledge with the cutesy caption “Hang On”. It may be considered bad taste to put up such a poster … unless you are at least middle management, in which case bad taste is expected. But regardless of this, at least with aerobic motivational pictures, it is true. The right picture can really get some people motivated and going.

9 Hidden Reasons to Stay Motivated

Written on 18 March 2009 by

Ways to Rediscover Your Drive
– By Zach Van Hart, www.sparkpeople.com

Everyone tells us to stay motivated. Our friends, our co-workers, our relatives say to keep going, don’t quit. Sometimes, though, you ask, “Why? Why try my hardest when it ends in disappointment? Why go through something when it’s going to hurt? Why?”
